With over two decades leading enterprise technology and cloud modernization initiatives, Joel knows firsthand how systems break down - and how they can be rebuilt with clarity, courage, and purpose. He brings that same ethos to his writing: stories and insights rooted in change, conviction, and the people caught in the middle.
Joel is the author of Transforming Legacy Systems with Cloud Solutions, a plainspoken guide for leaders seeking smarter ways to evolve their tech stacks without losing momentum or sanity.
His current project, Pirate Jenny, is a dark, supernatural novel exploring judgment, consequence, and power whispered through canvas and smoke. It will be his fiction debut, scheduled for publication in Fall 2025.
He’s also the voice behind Dear Uncle Bill, a straight-talking, soul-searching advice column published as a weekly newsletter on LinkedIn, offering honest guidance on leadership, technology, and being human in the age of AI.
When he's not writing or consulting, Joel runs a local floral business and shares ownership of The Lash Lounge, an eyelash extension salon managed by his beautiful wife, Madilin. Together, they find inspiration living along the shores of Lake Erie in Ohio, where the rhythm of the water grounds their work and creativity.
Joel enjoys the reflective rituals of kava and kratom - modern roots for ancient calm - and believes the best transformations come in layers, with soil under your nails and light ahead.
